TFF Forum 2019
The Forum is a serious attempt to broaden the network of filmmaking and networking in Lebanon among young filmmakers. It is an open door to discuss production and distribution problematic in Lebanon and the Middle East.
This initiative gives accredited attendees a chance to pitch their movies projects and meet international directors and producers guests of the Festival, along with our Jury Members, International Festival representatives, the press and representatives of funding institutions and production houses. Since 2016, many movies were supported through the TFF Forum and its Platform.
Along the 2 afternoons dedicated to Round Tables covering all cinema industry issues, networking and pitching sessions are also organized, as well as specialized workshops and Masterclasses. The Forum is expected to occur on 12, 13 and 14 April 2019.

Screen Writing Workshop in Residency
April 8th till 11th, 2019 in Tripoli
The “Screen Writing Workshop in Residency” will be organized in Tripoli parallel to the 6th edition of Tripoli Film Festival and part of the TFF Forum. The Workshop will be delivered by regional experts:
Deema Azar is a Jordanian film producer and script consultant. She is also co-founder and managing partner at TaleBox, a Jordanian production and training company based in Amman which fosters and nurtures new talents in Jordan and the Arab World. Azar occupied the position of Regional Training Manager at the Royal Film Commission – Jordan where she managed the regional training programs aimed at Arab filmmakers, including Rawi Screenwriters’ Lab and Med Film Factory, between 2012 and 2016. She produced the German/Jordanian co-production THE PARROT (2016), recipient of the 2015 Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Her next project is Darin J. Sallam’s debut feature film FARHA. Azar is also an independent script consultant. She consults on film projects, is a reader for the Doha Film Institute and a Torino Film Lab’s 2017 Story Editing program alumna.
Ahmed Shawky is an Egyptian film critic, programmer and script supervisor, writes constantly since 2009. Publishing weekly articles in “Al Kahera” newspaper and “Filfan” website, beside various contributions in different prints and websites including “Goethe Institute Magazine”. He published five books about Egyptian cinema. Shawky is currently the assistant artistic director of Cairo International Film Festival. He is also the secretary general of Egyptian film critics association (EFCA), A FIPRESCI member. And a programming team member of Malmo, Mumbai and Tripoli film festivals. Shawky acted as jury in many festivals including Locarno, Malmo, Eurasia, Oran, Original Narrative, Luxor, Tripoli, Muscat and Rotterdam Arab film festival. He co-founded “Clockwork Temptation” script house. Through which he supervised the scripts of many successful TV series including “30 Days”, “House Secrets”, “Superman’s Daughters” and “Words on Paper”.
The workshop is free of charge.
